3 Month Check-In and Regimen

Hi guys thought I would just check in with you and give you update for the three month mark. I can’t believe it has been 12 weeks since I had a perm. So three months in and I have about 2-3 inches of natural hair (formerly known as new growth). I can already see a curl pattern and I really like it. I really have a hard time keeping my hands out of my hair. I guess I always thought that my natural hair would be all rough and feel like straw but it is so soft probably because I am actually taking care of it. Here are some picks of my progress: I also thought I would share my current product regimen with you. I am really fighting my product junkie nature and only allowing myself to buy new things once I have used at least one bottle of something that I have :) Products I’m using: Shampoos: Renpure Organics My Pretty Hair is Parched , Giovanni Smooth as Silk Conditioners: Ion Color Defense Intense Moisture , Herbal Essences Hydralicious Self-Targeting Conditioner Deep conditione...

Flat Twist Out Fail!!

So it happened. I had my first Bad Hair Day since deciding to go natural. And to make things worse, I had no backup plan and I had to go to work, and with my hair being so short now there was no slicking it back into a ponytail. I have no one but myself to blame because I ignored the cardinal rule. " Never try a new hair style when you have somewhere to go ". What is so funny is that I had just discussed with my cousin, how I never unveil a new do when I have somewhere to go and always to a test run first on the weekend. The reason I felt obliged to do ignore the rule in this case was that I was using a tried and true style from my past that I had not used in a while; not with my current product regimen and definitely not on my two textured mane. The flat twist out had been a go to style of mine when it was time for me to get a relaxer to hide the new growth. So I thought I would just do it this week and figured "What could go wrong???" Well, this..... I should...
